Tennis...?

For the pass week, I have been as sick as a dog. My hands were like bricks I barely came close to lifting and my head was pounding as if my brain wanted to get out. Fever. Hate it. But I suppose the worse part of being sick would be the sore throat that you get.

In any case, the trials for Raffles is next Tuesday and I am so going to be caught flat-footed.

Tennis. Do I really love the game or do I just love the idea of the game? Tennis is a very classy game. The word “tennis” brings many thoughts to mind. When you say the word “tennis”, I think of the well brought up. I think of the English-speaking, blue-blooded upper class. I think about the beautiful beamers and the pretty Porsches. I think about substance. I think about style. But again, when it all comes down, I still think about the class.

I love the idea of playing tennis again. Nonetheless, loving the idea of something isn’t good enough. It brings a lot of troubles; a lot of bad choices and in the end, a lot of mistakes. I’m sure no one needs to be told.

Time is ticking away to the big day and I’m nervous as shit, though, I doubt shit has feelings. Anyway, the trials obviously mean a lot to me and I obviously hope that I’d do well. I was watching a couple of Singaporean guys playing yesterday and they were so good. Their serves were like “wow”! And they say Singaporeans can’t play, what bull. I can envision myself playing with the coach or one of the players at Raffles and seeing them beat the crap out of me. I’ve always been bad with closure and if they were to ask me to play a match with some one, I’m doomed fore, especially considering the fact that I lost my stamina on my derailed way to life without tennis. But you know what? I think the closure part still scares me most.

Time is ticking away and I wish I had more time to stroke. I’ve been sparring with Jo Neil and Adrian and for some one who hasn’t been playing in ages; I think I did pretty well. XD Jo Neil places the ball so well, if I meet a player like that, I’m dead, as dead as a doornail and waiting to push up daisies. Adrian, the best player/coach I’ve ever met. I must say, I’ve got a better confidence level since I sparred with him. He always finds the right way to do things and he puts the message across nice and neat. In fact, there are so many things to go on about him but in short, I’d be a blur without him.

Speaking of Adrian, he starred/is starring in a (local) movie called Emperor, directed by German lass, Juliane Block. It’s ripe for viewing but I haven’t watched it yet. I watched the trailer and it’s so cool to see someone you know on telly! I think it’s coming out late this year but I’ll go get a copy from him first. ^^

Well, just in case you’re wondering, the movie is based on the novel, Emperor (Duh!) and it is a murder mystery wrapped in an Asian crime thriller with all the triads and crimes spiralling out of control. By the way, Yuri from Frequency Canon is playing one of the gangsters in the movie, so is his brother, Y/Eugene-I’m-Not-Sure-How-To-Spell-His-Name. Siang kor (Danny) and Willy boy are acting in the movie as gangsters too. Oh, I forgot to mention. Even Yuri and Y/Eugene’s parents, Uncle Meng Kiang and Auntie Irene, are going to appear in this movie as well. They play this old couple who borrowed money from the loan sharks and...

I have to watch the movie to know the rest. So do you! XP

PS. I SO SO SO SO SO WANNA WATCH THE EDGE OF LOVE AND THE MUMMY: TOMB OF THE DRAGON EMPEROR STARRING KEIRA KNIGHTLEY AND MICHELLE YEOH RESPECTIVELY! AHHHHHHHHHH! *Jumps Off Some High Building*
