Tennis.

The touch of the grip of the tennis racquet was a feeling like no others. Sure, I played twice this year so its long absence in my life is no longer a factor. And even though the grip was old and icky and tacky, this time, I had something to look forward to.

I’ve been meaning to write sooner but there have just been too many things going on lately – both good and bad. The Chinese Society magazine is supposed to be out by now but it isn’t. However, I ain’t gonna spoil my own mood by talking about it. Oh, and I just read Digital Fortress by the oh-so-brilliant Dan Brown. Amazing. I’m absolutely infatuated. I spent less than 3 days reading his book, a book which would usually take me more than 3 weeks. Just a little secret between you and me; I’m moonstruck over the possibilities of being a cryptographer when I grow up! Perhaps this passion won’t be short-lived... As a matter of fact, I always had a thing for puzzles... that I can solve.

On the other happy thoughts that have caused me to walk on air, I played basketball today too and it was equally amazing. Amazing lay-ups; amazing shots; amazing game play. I suppose there is a little part of me that wishes I were offered the try-outs for basketball instead of tennis. But it’s Raffles. How can you say no?

Well, thank you Sean and Co. for the dampeners. Now all I have to get is my tennis grip, shoe, my stamina and then my consistency.

Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen; I’m back in the game.

PS. That’s IF I get accepted into Raffles, which seems physically impossible at the moment.
