a day to remember...

I was suppose to wake up at 0500 today because of my St. John Area Competition, but my alarm failed me and I woke up when my friend came over (approx. 0538) to prepare for the day. All the nuisance of tying the hair and gel-ing it up to make sure it is neat and tidy which is so very unlikely of me had to be done but I was so tired I barely opened my eyes. So dear Madeline had to tie it up herself. (I slept at 0130 you see, sleep is always my dilemma) Mei Cin came later on. We headed for Pay Fong 2 which was where it was held at 0700 hours.

We reached on time but everyone was so tensed, rushing everyone around was all my friends did. Thinking about the pass few months of training we had to go through and this is the day. Judgement day. I remember yesterday. Literally. Me and Wen Jean were talking.

(We grew closer thanks to the Chinese Society one day camp which was definitely entertaining. It was just the day before yesterday, a Friday. She was lots of fun, we were station leaders. So when I was putting the pipe in place -- our station was to make sure the participants align themselves to put together the right Chinese character with their body on the ground, the wet and muddy grass that was done by yours truly. Anyways, when I was putting the pipe in place, I asked her to lend a hand in opening the packets of flour, to be poured on our victims. Instead of being the sweet, quiet St John president of mine that I used to know, she poured flour all over me. I wet her. And vice versa. So instead of making the participant wet, we were the wettest among all. We smelled like mi hun guei as well. But it was definitely worth it. We had to go to tuition like that.)

Consequently, we were talking about the sweet memories we had in Pay Fong 2, we are both from PF2 you see. From the marvellous nasi lemak to being prefects. (She wasn’t one, but I was. And she is one now in IJC, but I ain’t, thank God) There were lots of memories in the building which used to be brown and now GREEN. Yes. GREEN!! Bad taste I have to admit.

But this time we were back in PF2 for our Area Competition. I’m not sure bout her but I definitely kept my cool. No worries. Hakuna Matata. Wen Jean is cool, I have to admit. And get this, compliments like this seldom come from me.

So, the competition was fine. Everything ran… not so smoothly, but still it was lots of fun. My team, consisting of Mei Cin, Madeline, Li Ying and I, marching’s wasn’t that bad. We had compliments. But we couldn’t finish our short case in time. And our nursing, had a few minor mistakes here and there. So there goes the “award”. But most importantly, I had fun. Don’t expect. Do something you love and be happy. Don’t be happy only when something good happens to you. If I live like that, my happiness would seriously be a threat. Thus resulting my conclusion to my peeps, DON’T EXPECT.

I was suppose to go to the Lee Hom concert. However some one else was more interested in him than me, so I gave the ticket to her. I felt happy doing that. I love helping my friends out. It just feels right and nice and good and the list goes on. I actually could go, but secondly, why waste my time on a person that is famous but doesn’t even know my name? (Even though the song that made him famous has my name in it… XD) Staying with my friends would be my option. Sure, friends come and go, but I find them more worth my time.

The story goes on...
