At this point,
it honestly doesn't feel like I've come
to a First World country.

I've always held the Western world high in regard,
but now I'm not quite sure why.

Sure, they've given us a great deal.

Disney, David Foster, and Democracies;
Longchamp, Lamborginis, and Light Bulbs.
Hell, they even got us worshipping Apples and Blackberries.
And of course, this language we're oh-so dependent on.

Oh their accents...
I'm proud to say I haven't faked my accent once since I've been here.
(My friends would know that I could very well do it if I wanted to, mind you.)

Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful for what the Westerners have bestowed upon us,
but quite frankly, "disappointment" is the word after 3 weeks here.

Examples.

Banks with no proper queuing systems, trains that stop between stops;
Efficiency -- whuuut???
People with tonnnnnes of theories but work like... slow;
Economic health -- hmmm...

Perhaps it's a wee bit early to tell,
but the world where I used to want to be in seems so far away,
now that I'm here.
