Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a tourist from Malaysia. I recently purchased a bottle of Silica Gel from a camera shop at B1 [Lucky Plaza]. I'm not sure what the name of the shop is, all I know is that I walked down the steps from street level, and there it was.
So, I'm writing to you today because I am very unhappy with the kind of service (if you can even call it that) that was rendered.
On Friday (12/8/11), I bought that bottle of Silica Gel for S$16. The shop owner had the nerve to tell me: "Oh, that's really cheap already, I usually sell it for S$18". A couple of days later, I find out that they're selling the exact same things for S$3-5 at Funan. (I found out online, when I got back.)
Perhaps it's my fault for getting it so soon, not surveying the market price first, etc. But that was my last day in Singapore and I THOUGHT Lucky Plaza's shops were reliable and that they could be trusted. I guess I thought wrong.
Funny, people warn me about Sim Lim Square, but not Lucky Plaza. I know it is just dollars and cents, but just thinking about all the other people he has probably lied to, it just makes me sick to my stomach.
I'm sorry to take it out on you, but I urge you to please do something about it. Because if something's not done about shopkeepers that charge 5 times the price for a measly bottle of Silica Gel, I will see to it that I'm not the only one who knows about the unethical shopkeepers Lucky Plaza keeps as tenants.
You have a tremendous week ahead now.
Regards,
Tan Wei Yi
PS. If it wasn't for this little episode, I'd say my Singapore trip was perfect.

Sim Lim and Orchard are tourist traps.
Haha I wouldn't know about the whole of Orchard road... but thanks for the heads-up? Heh.
