Today's an interesting day. It started out like any other (omg, so cliche) but there were some tweaks to it.
So... I woke up earlier this morning to do some last minute mugging for my Physics paper later today and after I was done, with plenty of time to spare, it was bath time.
There were the normal procedures... But when I got into the shower, freak! The water was scorching hot. I think I scalded my scald or something. Bleh! The heater sucks in boarding. =_= I had to wait 20 minutes for the water to cool down just a little. It still wasn't the optimal temperature, but what choice do I have, right? I had a paper to sit for.
Outta the shower, slightly behind time, I had 10 minutes to get to my exam venue, with a detour to the lockers, without being late. I upped my usual walking speed a knot and 3.5 minutes later, I was at the lockers, 'cause well, you're obviously not supposed to bring your bag into the exam hall.
The bad news - locker's full. Lord knows why... Bleh! It's the regular locker I've been using, so why is it full?
Well, I wasn't entirely jinxed. With a bit of luck, I spotted a friend of mine and duh, asked if I could borrow his locker. Thankfully, he said yes. But when I saw his locker, I was like T_T, how am I going to fit my lappie, clothes, marshmallows, newspaper and more random things in that already super packed locker?
The solution - lotsa time repacking and lotsa effort stuffing.
His locker wasn't exactly low to the ground. It was just what my arms could, by the narrowest margins of all margins, reach. It wasn't a walk in a park but eventually, that was not to be my concern anymore.
The next task - getting to the Multi Purpose Hall in 90 seconds.
Do note that the average time to get from the lockers to the MPH would usually take 3 minutes, give or take. You'd think: Tennis player, can run. But I know: Not me. I'm an anomaly. Nevertheless, I ran as fast as I could.
BUT. (Yes, again the but.) Halfway there, I realised my wallet and phone were still in my pocket. Unauthorized material would result in a white slip (which I already have an unfavourable number of and hence is pretty unacceptable for someone in my position), and thus, the sprinting back to the lockers. I realised I didn't have my friends code but with some quick thinking, I used the one I usually use.
-2 minutes to go, I had to sprint ALL THE WAY.
I arrived in the hall late, but I only missed a few minutes. But then there was also the panting and the sweating and the shaky fingers. I needed some buffeting time.
I think I started my 2 hour 30 minutes Physics paper approximately 15 minutes in. As luck would have it, I managed to scrape through. Just barely, but at least I did. There were questions I didn't have time for but at least I didn't tank the paper totally. Can't afford that... I died once for CTs already.
Anyways, paper over, promos over. It was time to take some time to unwind and just breathe. I was actually pretty relaxed for the whole duration of my exams but today was just a little out of the norm. I had a talk with my CCA teacher about my studies afterwards. Zzz... I've got lots to do but I'll think about that tomorrow. I really need a break.
So after everything, I went out for a movie with my classmates. We went to watch Surrogate. The idea was pretty cool but I couldn't stay for the whole movie 'cause I had to be somewhere else. I'm not here to talk about movies anyways... What was interesting, happened before the movie.
I was in the toilet and I left my bag on the shelf-like-thingy, along with my wallet and phone. Only God knows why I took out my wallet and phone. T_T
I'm guessing you already know what'll happen next.
After answering nature's call, I grabbed my bag and it was then, my phone slipped a little. It shifted towards the toilet bowl in the MOST HORRIFIC WAY.
But it didn't fall in. THANK GAWD! (Who knew I believed in God. LoL.) It was funny cause moments ago, I was telling myself I should be more careful. Failure to do so would result in my things ending up in the toilet bowl.
After that incident, I was thinking to myself: My wallet's gonna fall in... Bleh! It'll be funny if it did.
You know what?
It did!
WTF!
SO NOT FUNNAY!
I fished it out of the bowl (thank Gawd again it was uh... half flushed) and my mind just went blank. I dashed to the sink (at least I didn't run out with my skirt up... bleh!) and took all my things out and I ran my wallet through some tap water.
Geez... All my things... All soaked. But the movie was starting so as soon as I dealt with the wallet, which included half-drying it with the hand-dryer, I bolted to the cinema hall.
So, that was end of episode 2. The next thing y'know, I was on the bus. On the bus back to the place where I belong... I'm going home. ^^ (Took that from Chris Daughtry's Home.)
You know what? At least I didn't miss the bus... That would have been plain sadistic cause the next bus home would be the following day and I had no time to waste. Home is lurveee. Home is where my heart is. =D
2 hours into the journey, I smelt smoke. I thought it was the haze outside cause well, it was really hazy outside. (Blardy Indonesia and her forrest fires / open burning. xD) But the next thing y'know, some one was screaming, "Get off the bus! GET OUT OF THE BUS!"
WTF.
I grabbed my bag and went down.
Apparently there was something wrong with the engine. I didn't care much for the technical stuff so, I, along with all the other passengers, waited pretty aimlessly for half an hour, for another bus to come pick us up.
I took comfort in knowing that there weren't any divas on board. Those that would have complained, on top of their lungs, about how things like that could be happening. "How can the bus be in that kinda condition?", "How can this happen to me?", etc., etc.
Well, divas don't usually take buses in the first place. But then again, there are those empty vessels that... You know.
Y'know what? I'mma give you another reason why I thought I still had a little luck was on my side that night.
At that moment, when we were in the middle of nowhere (which I later found out was Pagoh) and where there were no streetlights and where there were very little cars passing through the area, there was this HUGE DRAIN I could have fallen in, which would have been much more unpleasant. But right before the drain and right when I was about to take the next step, a car passed through and it's headlights shined to make me see that there was a drain, 15 cm in front of me.
Today, I was actually amused. Maybe it's the music I've been listening to. For all the mishaps (albeit minor, but still considerable) that happened today, I was pretty calm through it all. I actually thought it was hilarious. Except being late for my Physic paper. Bleh! That was a really tensed moment... I thought they weren't gonna let me sit for the paper. If I didn't sit for the paper, I might get retained 'cause I didn't do very well for some of my other papers. No meet criteria, no get promoted - like I've been saying. But back to me point, yeah... I think music has a really soothing effect. It makes your day, or at least the way you deal with your life, better. (Okay. Not true. But it does has its way of healing. =D)
Short moral of the story: Have good music in your iPod! =D
At the end of the day, I was back home. Home and happy. Despite finding out that in the midst of rushing to get out of the bus and when I was climbing over to the other side of the balustrade, I, or rather the balustrade, inflicted a serious gash to my iPhone. Bleh! Well, coulda been me. That wouldn't have been worse. Bleh!
Well, I'm home now. Mum took me out for my favvv tandoori. Okay, tandoori was sold out. I ate garlic cheese nan and chicken hyderbadi and that was good enough. Heck, seeing mum made it all good enough. =)
I was happy. I am happy.
"Shit happens. It's up to you whether you wanna let that shitty feeling consume you and it's also up to you whether you wanna let that shit out of your system."
PS. I just found out some one I love's got cancer. Now that's just where my luck officially runs out and that's just where I reach breaking point. =|
