Short Apple Updates.

Sorry for the slowness and randomness but I was just looking thru apple.com after dunno how many centuries and I just realised that Macs finally come with a memory card slot! (Refer to picture below.)

I remember writing in a comment just last year to Apple about not having a memory card slot. I told myself that when Macs finally come with a memory card slot and a touchscreen uh... interface(?), I'd get myself a new Mac. Prolly upgrade to the Pro if the price is reasonable, which would most prolly (or rather hopefully) be the case. Who knows, I'll prolly be in the states doing my u or something sooooo, getting my allowance x3.78 will mean that I can prolly afford a new MacBook PRO! XD

Well, that's what I told myself about a new IXUS just before I came to Singapore.

Digressing.

Back to affording a Mac.

I heard that Apple's Leopard OS X now runs with normal PCs. So yeah... people will start buying just the Mac OS for PCs and the price of Macs would prolly drop and finally, more people would start going for Macs. (Dammit. Apple should keep Mac OS for themselves (and for us Mac-ers). I wanted to be special. LoL.)

People used to ask me why would I (or rather my mum) pay so much $$$ for a Mac.

Well, one of the reasons, I figure, is prolly Mac's OS. I honestly think it's the best out there. In fact, when you pay for a Mac, you're also paying for an ORIGINAL operating system, which costs quite a lot. Unlike a PC which would most probably use a pirated operating system, Macs and their original operating system provides lots of nifty updates and it comes with good security. I like that... besides, the hardware's good. With the software being good... everything just works. Together. Just think about the graphics and Intel multicore processors. Oh, the RAM and processing speed, iHeart. Battery life too... Oh! Mutli-touch trackpad! So close to the touchscreen dream! XD (PS. I'm aware of the fact that other companies like Sony, for example, has the touchscreen already but their sensitivity is crap, or rather would be crap, when compared to Apple. Just compare Xperia and iPhone for instance. Besides, Sony has always been following Apple's footsteps and this releasing the touchscreen (does not include tablet) first doesn't mean Apple's copying Sony this time. It's so obvious Sony wants to be "first" while Apple wants to perfect it before releasing it.) (PPS. I actually like Sony. O.O) (PPPS. I suppose I like Apple better... Exdee!) (PPPPS. I imagine Apple's touchscreen interface to be like Jeff Han's, not those normal tablet kinds. Google him. =D) (PPPPPS. Oh, lord. I sound like a kid.)

Oh, btw, back to security, you do realise you hardly see viruses on Macs, right?

“Connecting a PC to the Internet using factory settings is like leaving your front door wide open with your valuables out on the coffee table. A Mac, on the other hand, shuts and locks the door, hides the key, and stores your valuables in a safe with a combination known only to you. You have to buy, configure, and maintain such basic protection on a PC.”

But heck, hackers / malware developers would prolly start attacking Macs once the masses start flooding in like crazy. With Apple's "Come on geeks, we dare you - bet you can't crack a Mac!" ad campaign... us Mac users are in for a rideee. T_T

Smooth move Apple.

With Mac being slowly downgraded in that sense to just another PC, Macs will be substitutable and Steve Jobs will have to lower his prices to actually start competing against Bill Gates and some other random people.

Conclusion: The headlines done the road will read "Mac Users On The Rise".

But you know what, Steve Jobs? I prefer being a consumer in the smaller market in this industry. We get exclusive goods. ^^

Sure, there will be a heavier price to pay. Sure, it is conflicted with a consumers conventional tendencies to share less of what's in his pockets with the entrepreneur's bank account. I know... a firm's aim is to maximize profit. It's an elastic demand out there. Lowering price (and gaining a more than proportionate increase in quantity demanded) as opposed to the opposite is more profitable. BUT YOU CAN MAKE IT LESS SUBSTITUTABLE!

Bahhh! Econs suck.

Okay. Maybe not. The fact that I (kinda) love Apple so much that I'm crapping such crap sucks too. XP

Ahhh. I think me being so contradicting sucks most. I annoy myself. T_T

PS. I really didn't mean it when I said Econs suck, I prolly meant mine. So God of Econs, please give me the knowledge (while I sleep) to equip me with the power to ace Econs (and the other subjects if possible) for my A Levels. =D
PPS. I prolly said Econs suck cause I'm not doing very well with my studies now... =/ CTs were crap. =//
PPPS. I tagged it as a lot of things because I am not decisive right now. XD Brain's messed up. Prolly as usual. =S

Mac OS is awesome hehe, I agree. But for gamers (like me) Mac is a big NO-NO (like so big it can crush you). Simply because most video games are not compatible with Mac, and it's not worth the effort creating a separate version for the Mac in most cases. Many gaming-grade computer peripherals (mice, keyboards, etc) don't work when connected to a Mac either. Sad story eh

If you ask me, I'll tell you that the 13" MBP is stupid and designed for the people who want the 'pro' moniker but can't afford the real Pro.

Reason's why. Its almost similar to my Macbook, except that it uses a 2.xxGhz proc, and it has extra slots.

Not even a GPU upgrade. If you want to go MBP, suggest you take the 15", where at least it uses a 9600GT GPU which is loads faster than my 9400M

To Yee Hou:
Yearp. I was thinking of either the 15" or 17". Oh. Btw. 17" is like almost desktop-y. XD Anywho, I honestly don't think i remember even clicking on the 13" for specs anyway. Haha.

To Justin:
Haha. Yeah. I noticed that too. So hard to find CS for Mac, I gave up. But I'm not a gamer anyway so oh well. XD
