It’s astounding, really, how much fun you can do with a shoe. Well, we had a pair of Shern’s shoes and so it was double the fun. Ian actually slipped his hands into the shoes and walked with his hands across the park, although incredibly gross but extremely entertaining. Gosh, you should have seen us. We were the centre of attraction (in the radius of the park) and we had so much fun tossing and throwing his shoes around like American football while poor lil’ Shern suffers and squirms in pain. It was 10 of us against 1 of him. He stood no chance. And I guess what made it so fun was the eagerness of Shern getting his Vans back by any means necessary, and that includes running around like a monkey in despair. Heck, you should have joined us (unless, of course, you’re a sourpuss/party-pooper). XD
Anyway, I never knew I had such a talented family... Balisong Enthusiast Juinn, Photographing Crackerjack Hou, Mathematical Sage Wei, Breakdancing Aficionado Ian, Guitar Plucking Shern, Piano Playing Jamin, Violin Pundit Joo Lee, hell, we even have our very own Massaging Masseuse Joo Ann. Come to think about it, the latterest has pretty strong hands for an 11 year old and she sure has entrepreneurship in her blood; a born business woman, I’d say, charging a fee of RM10 for every 10 minutes of back rub. 真是有前途! (Zhen1 shi4 you3 qian2 tu2! – direct translation: Really got future!)
I can’t help grinning at that for some reason... But well, you should really see the vim and vigor at Kai Ma’s house warming + the “after party” at the Waterfront (also where the park is). Hmmm... I really love being around them... Even without Shern’s shoe to hurl around.
By the by, have you seen Mamma Mia? I personally thought it was remarkable. Meryl Streep was outstanding. I never knew that Academy Award winner could sing, but then again, I never knew much in the first place. Well, in any case, I adore her. Even Amanda Seyfried sang superbly. Think about that bimbo whose boobs can forecast weathers in Mean Girls and then compare her with what she portrays today. Nevertheless, Pierce Brosnan can’t sing for nuts. I think he should just stick to acting cause I cringe in my sit when he started singing. You know, I like him, I really do. But he simply just cannot sing.
All in all, I thought it was a pretty good show and the songs were simply classics. There were a few songs I exceptionally take fancy of, such a Slipping Through My Fingers, The Winner Takes It All, Our Last Summer, Honey Honey and Chiquitita. Particularly through Meryl Streep’s performance, I felt so drawn into the movie, just like I was part of it. It was as if I was transported into the set and I could feel exactly how they felt, especially in the first two songs mentioned above. Of course, some of her gestures were like “move-every-limb-you-possibly-can”, but I suppose it comes with the territory of singing songs of the 70s. In fact, I enjoyed the songs so much, I just had to get myself the soundtrack. I tried begging my mum, but that didn’t work; I knew I wouldn’t be satisfied with a borrowed copy and I know I don’t have the guts to steal it; so, I bought it. The funny thing is, I have already downloaded more than half the songs on the album. Nonetheless, that is still the best RM46.50 I’ve spent in months.
Speaking of spending, I devoured myself with retail therapy during the course of my visit to KL. I splurged on a new pair of off white Converse, costing me RM95.90 and if you’re wondering whether I got my dress yet, no. I didn’t. XD I did, however, get a book and an FM transmitter for the pod. I just lurveee shopping!
