Imagine yourself standing on the bare grounds of Africa. Now, wait just a second, there aren’t any tigers in Africa. I like tigers so let’s rewind, restructure and restart.
Let’s try this again: Imagine yourself stranded in the middle of the Indian jungle in the late afternoon. Your two no longer sanitized feet are in the mushy grounds of the jungle which has been carpeted by layers and layers of decaying leaves. Okay, I’ll be nice. I’ll give you a pair of slippers so you won’t feel that mushy earth. (By the way, don’t you even dare ask for a pair of Nike kicks if not I’m going to kick you where is hurts most.) So like I was saying, the fresh smell of the surrounding is making breathing more than just a necessity and the whistling wind that is pushing and making its way through the leaves of the trees above creates a slight rustling effect with a pleasant breeze. The sun barely penetrates through the canopy. As a result, you might as well say that the vibe is very welcoming and indulging (unlike in Africa, so you should thank me for that).
You have nothing in your hands; No mobile phones for your constant need for messaging and no iPod earphones stuck in your ears. Enjoy the settings, that’s why I made an effort to make it sound pleasant! Well, all of a sudden, you hear the snap of a twig not very far-off. Your curiousity arouses by the intrigue. What in the world could that be? (I’ll give you a hint, I like tigers.)
So now that your awareness has been alerted, you start to panic and you mind starts to churn, brainstorming for some brilliant idea. (I would give you a gun or a “parang” but it’s a federal offence to carry weapons like that. Don’t even dream of an M-16 in hand because artilleries are dangerous and may cause harm to others. Besides, I already said you have nothing in your hands, plus, I’m learning how to stand my ground.) Well, you figured you could climb up a tree but then realise that tigers could climb too. After some time, you finally accept the fact that you’re a goner and the best thing you can do now is hope for the omnipotent and omniscient Almighty to strike a flash of lightning on one of the trees so that it’ll collapse on the tiger and kill the tiger. Or better yet, let the lightning strike the tiger instead. You know what? It just might work out. But no, I like tigers and God isn’t in this piece of work. You’re all alone and the next thing you know, you’re a goner.
Well, I gave you the heads-up, didn’t I? Honestly, the best way would have been for you to stop imagining. Nonetheless, this is not my message for the day. I’m going to cut straight to the point.
It has been made obvious that the beautiful and magnificent beast can easily outfight a human being. They can effortlessly and nonchalantly take you out, making you the fool for once. Oh, they have claws too! Strength and claws, the perfect match that spells death for a person. It’s no wonder how the tigers get to feast on our dear flesh.
But then again, we have the brains. I was being a tad unfair just now. However, whilst transporting you back to reality, you promptly regained your intelligence and brainpower. With this intellect, here comes inventions like arrows to spears and guns to laser beams that will efficiently take the tiger out. They may have the brawns, but we have the brains.
Clearly, our intellect has given us the ability to come up with inventions that are vast, infinite and boundless. The agility of the tiger, the force that it possesses and its well-designed claws may make a person that has been caught off guard vulnerable but when one is aware of the dangers that stalk him, the gift of thought will rescue him and journey him to better places, even in a different era or environment. Anyone try to outfight us, we’ll definitely outwit them. That’s the only way to stay alive, right?
So, if a person gets hold of a certain skill, that’ll be great, won’t it? However, if that person is too ignorant and full of himself and decides that he does not need to learn from others, he is no better than a tiger, don’t you think so? Being a Homo sapien means we can easily comprehend new knowledge and skill. Don’t you think that we ought to be doing that? After all, acquiring additional familiarity or expertise can in fact make a person independent and capable.
Why depend on others when you can depend on yourself?

A very long, wordy and profound analogy.
